"Fore" Kids Golf Classic to benefit Fulton students, teachers

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. -- The 18th annual Fulton Education Foundation "Fore" Kids Golf Classic is being held on May 14 in Alpharetta at the Golf Club of Georgia.

A spokeswoman for Fulton County Schools reported that the tournament will benefit students and staff of Fulton County schools, while Fulton County school leaders, school board members, business professionals and others from the community will attend.

There will be one caddy for every four players. All golfers should check in at 9:30 that morning, and be ready to begin at 11:00. At 4:00 p.m., awards will be given out along with a silent auction.

To register, individuals may play for $400, and teams of four will pay $1,750. Sponsors are still needed.

Money raised from the "Fore" Kids Golf Classic will go towards vision testing and eyeglasses for students who may not be able to afford them. Other funds will go to math and science programs throughout Fulton County, recognition of teachers, and innovative technology teaching.

Around 40 sponsor companies have signed up so far. For more information, call (404) 763-6830.
