Zagat names Atlanta's 'Most Hotly Anticipated' restaurants | Restaurants
ATLANTA -- Zagat has compiled what the restaurant guide says are its "Most Hotly Anticipated" restaurants opening in Atlanta in 2015. The restaurants include new projects by popular Atlanta chefs and expansions of restaurants popular outside of Georgia.
Zagat says that with Krog Street Market "mostly" up and running, Ponce City Market is the next big milestone in the city. Zagat is looking forward to restaurants that will open there starting this spring and then staggered throughout the year. Highlights according to Zagat: a new spot from chef Hector Santiago, an Atlanta outpost of Minero (Charleston chef Sean Brock's Mexican restaurant), an H&F Burger location and a seafood-focused eatery from Anne Quatrano, among others.
Other anticipated openings include:
In Inman Park development Inman Quarter - "A revived" MF Sushi, a new location of the "quickly popular" Bartaco, and an as-yet unnamed Ford Fry restaurant that's rumored to be similar to Westside's The Optimist. The development is expected to open in early spring.
In Virginia-Highland - A new restaurant by Illegal Food. Opening 'in next month or so.'
In Buckhead at The St. Regis Atlanta - The Atlas, Chef Christopher Grossman's new restaurant expected to open later in January.
In Sandy Springs Gateway development - The first Georgia location of "super-popular Southern eatery" Tupelo Honey out of Asheville, North Carolina. Opening expected in late fall.
