Junot Díaz to read at Carter Center

ATLANTA -- Renowned author Junot Díaz will discuss and read from his new short story collection at the Carter Center later this month.

The talk, which is sponsored by A Capella Books, will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 21.

During his appearance, Díaz will read from This is How You Lose Her, which hits bookstore shelves on Sept. 11. Publishers Weekly describes the book as "searing, sometimes hilarious, and always disarming," while Booklist calls it "magnificent ... sharply observed and morally challenging."

Individual tickets for Díaz appearance are $29 and include a signed first edition of This is How You Lose Her. Couples' tickets are also available for $40 and come with one copy of the book. Tickets are available at A Capella Books, which is located at 208 Haralson Avenue in Inman Park. They will also be available at the door.

Junot Díaz has written two other books -- the 1997 short story collection Drown and 2008's The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, which won the Pulitzer Prize.
