ATLANTA -- Real estate website Curbed.com has released a list of Top 10 Atlanta Projects for 2014.

In introducing its list, curbed.com says, “Whether they're wrapping up, just starting or somewhere in between, major projects will be making mega progress all year long. Step back and think about it: Can any other city compete with a roster like this? Not just this year, but in any single year?”

ATLANTA, GA March 11, 2014– Morgan Stanley announced today that Michael Merlin, Managing Director, Financial Advisor, in the Firm’s Atlanta Wealth Management office, has been named to Barron’s list of America’s Top 1,200 Advisors: 2014 State-by-State.

With all the hype and Black Friday campouts at Best Buys and Toys R Us, you'd guess that the majority of holiday shopping budgets go to purchases like electronics, toys and clothing. But according to new research, the biggest share what comes out of your holiday wallet actually goes to ... groceries and restaurants.

New data from Card-Linked Marketing leader Cardlytics -- collected from millions of U.S. households over the past two years -- shows what consumers actually spend their money on during the holiday season.  When it comes to holiday shopping Americans are spending 24% of their budget on groceries followed by restaurants and apparel.  Toy purchases are actually at the bottom of the list.

SweetWater moving 420 Fest to Centennial Olympic Park

ATLANTA -- SweetWater Brewery's 420 Festival will move from Candler Park to Centennial Olympic Park for its 10th anniversary in 2014.

"We have nothing but love and gratitude for the folks at Candler Park for being such incredible hosts to our festival over the years, however we're very excited to now call Centennial Olympic Park home," said Freddy Bensch, co-founder of SweetWater Brewing Company. "Approaching our 10-year anniversary, we wanted to look long-term for opportunities that will help grow the festival, bring on bigger entertainment and provide better access for local patrons and those traveling in for the fest. Atlanta's Best Places to Work honored

(ATLANTA BUSINESS CHRONICLE) -- So where are the best jobs in metro Atlanta?

On Sept. 13, Atlanta Business Chronicle named the 2013 Atlanta's Best Places To Work during a sold-out event at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead.

Each year, Atlanta Business Chronicle in partnership with Quantum Workplace surveys the metro area's employers to find those that have discovered how to become one of Atlanta's Best Places To Work.

This year more than 560 companies and organizations were nominated and more than 400 participated in the surveys.

Quantum used analytical tools to rank the top employers in three categories: the top 10 in the large employer category (501 employees or more in the metro area), the top 30 in the medium employer category (101 to 500 employees) and the top 60 in the small employer category (10 to 100 employees).

Fulton County Cooperative Extension sponsors free workshop for budding entrepreneurs

ATLANTA -- Have you ever considered starting your own home-based business? Fulton County Cooperative Extension will sponsor a free workshop on Starting a Home-Based Business on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System’s Central Library, 1 Margaret Mitchell Square, Suite 109, Atlanta.

Participants will gain valuable information to help them start and maintain a successful home-based business. Specific topics will include how to identify fraud and scams billed as business opportunities, space and time needs, identifying factors that contribute to success and much more.
