ATLANTA -- A Cappella Books will hold one of its famous Ballroom Book Bashes next month.

Gary Shteyngart will be the honoree, joining the likes of Nick Hornby, George Saunders and Irvine Welsh. The party will celebrate the paperback release of his memoir, Little Failure.

The Ballroom Book Bash will be Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Highland Inn Ballroom.

Tickets are $17 and come with a paperback copy of Little Failure. They can be purchased at acappellabooks.com.

According to A Cappella Books, Little Failure tells a story "about (Shteyngart's) childhood emigrating to 1970s Brooklyn from the Soviet Union ... (he) turns to memoir in a candid and deeply poignant account of his life so far. He shares his American immigrant experience, moving back and forth through time and memory with self-deprecating humor, moving insights and literary bravado."

Atlanta author Thomas Mullen -- who, like Shteyngart, graduated from Oberlin College -- will emcee the Oct. 9 event.

The Highland Inn Ballroom is located at 644 North Highland Avenue.
