ATLANTA, Ga. - Two houses on Howell Street Northeast caught fire just before 4:30 am Tuesday. Then, 30 minutes later, a multi-story condo building burst into flames on Memorial Drive near Oakland Cemetery.

At 59 Howell Street NE, firefighters arrived to find a house fully engulfed in flames and spreading to an adjacent home. A second alarm brought additional equipment and crews to the scene.

Atlanta Fire Department spokesman Captain Jolyon Bundrige said occupants of both houses escaped without injuries. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Just after 5:00 am, flames were spotted shooting from the roof of the seven-story condo building located at 593 Memorial Drive at Park Avenue.

There are a number of businesses located in the building including a restaurant.

At the scene, 11Alive Photojournalist Charles Olmstead reports no condos were damaged and the fire was confined to the roof of the building.

No injuries have been reported.
